Although you might not have heard of Copan when people rave about our Oklahoma lakes, trust me when I tell you that it’s got plenty to boast about! Just 15 minutes north of Bartlesville off US Highway 75, this hidden gem is 4,580 surface acres of water and is located on the Little Caney River system.

Your favorite angler will love that this lake is chocked full of game fish like largemouth bass, white crappie, channel and flathead catfish. Hikers and horseback riders can also enjoy the three miles of trails that wind through the woods and meadows around the lake.

Washington Cove is one of two RV Parks on the lake and this large campground has 101 sites with both water and electric hook-ups. The shade trees in this park are extraordinary and make for a pleasant stay even during our toasty Oklahoma summer months.
Plenty of Amenities!
Other amenities in this park include a boat ramp, clean shower houses, a dump station, baseball field, volleyball court, covered shelter, BBQ/grill/fire rings, and playground for the kids.

The location for Washington Cove Campground is great for those wanting to explore the spectacular Tallgrass Prairie Preserve in Osage County, visit the Pioneer Woman mecca in Pawhuska, or head into Bartlesville to take in the Price Tower, Frank Lloyd Wright’s only fully realized sky scraper.
This is an Army Corp of Engineers lake and the campground sites open for reservations six months in advance. Check out www.recreation.gov for more information.
